Teddy Boys.

Teddy Boys

Pre mod & Pre punk, Teddy Boys was the original sub culture in where The Working Class took clothes from the superior ruling class and making it there own, unique style which took inspiration from the Edwardian era however later teddy boys where more influenced by American 50's Rock & roll.
The subculture started off in the east end of London, where gangs known as cosh boys who where identifiable by there style: Long jackets sometimes with velvet collar and cuffs, Drainpipe trousers and a slim jim tie, they took on the police they thought local gangs and where prevalent with the use of knives.
The actual name " Teddy Boy" came from a headline in The Daily Express which shortened the word Edward to Teddy, and thus the name " Teddy Boy" was born.

The Teddy Boy - The first generation of young boys & girls to be different from the rest.

"Tunes of the day"

"Love is Noise" with little hints from Urban Hymns , Them backing vocals, The lyrics and the simple melodic drum beat, This band from my home town and the town that I love keep and always will blow me away music wise.

From Mancunian band The Stone Roses, I am the Resurrection, The simple drum beat and that driving bass line that brings the song to life - Simple,Understated and amazing.

The Pulp's Common People, Delving into social class tourism and the actually point of Working Class Life - A means to an end, we cant change this, We cant call anyone to make our life less hard.

Simple, Thought provoking lyrics with a spoken al lour about them.

Regionalisation

Since this thing of ours has come to life over the decades and has become a sub-culture for the working class football lads.

There was various regionalisation at the start when one set of "lads" got hold of a look one mob may have moved on. for instance the sportswear look to the scruff look? maybe even for the slight time that cycling tops where in?

I think that there is still slight regionalisation even in this modern age, Maybe not the the extent that it was in the early days, For instance down south there is still not a lot of Paul & Shark I am told, And I personally have not seen a lot of hackett.

I personally try and move things on and try and in my own way stay ahead try and find brands that I have not seen people wear at Latics and our lads.

Last film watched...

There seems to be more film posts than football or music at the moment but there will be more of them later on in the day.
I watched a decent gangster film which is in fact a work of brilliance.

The film is split into diffrent parts where the main character Noddles ( De Niro) remencsises about his time as a gangster during Proabition-era America.
A old noodles.

Has New york ever looked so beautiful?
A decent gangster film. 9.5/10

"Film of the day"

Realsed in 1969 and based on the book " A Kestrel for a knave" the film focuses on Billy Casper who has little hope in life behond becoming a Coal Miner, He gets bullied at home by his abusive half-brother Jud aswell as getting bullied at School.
Billy is a mischevous kid, Nicking from milk floats and getting into scraps at school and getting other kids at school into trouble.
He has no postive intresstes and his greatest fear is working down the pit.
This is until he finds a Kestreal who he calls Kes and takes an intrest in learnign Falconry which prompts him to steal from a used-book store because he cant get a card from libary.
as the film proggresses the relationship between Kes and Billy grows and his outlook on life becomes postive.
The film comes to an abroupt end when stuff just gets going good for Billy it all comes crashing down which for me was an emotional ending.

5/5 a great British film.

our workings
our ethos is fairly simple,Our aim is to be quirky, Alternative, Individual
and original and full of passion!

I have got myself the "members only" tee which was produced for the members on the forum, When I got it it was very good quality and had some very good details and ofcourse the fit was great.
I plan on getting more of there tees over summer as I think they are great for the summer weather.

Sunderland vs Wigan Athletic

Latics go up to the Stadium of Light to face the mackems and also there former manager Steve Bruce who has apparantly been shopping at harrods while up there [ sic ]

We managed to scrap a 1-0 win against them when they played at the DW stadium early on in the season.
Melchiot is still out and kirkland is out with a collarbone injury still while there has been talks of it being MARTINEZ VS BRUCE etc...Martinez has tried to play it down by stating that its all about the players and points.

HEAD TO HEAD

SUNDERLAND: EPL: 1 DRAWS 1

LATICS: 5

LEAGUE: Sunderland: 3 Draws: 5 LATICS: 5

FA CUP: Sunderland: 0 Draws: 0 Latics: 1

so on that from i should be saying we should be heading towards a comfterble win but with latics and our current form i would say a 3-0 hammering is in store for us.

there is also a memorble incodent where a group of sunderland fans where "mud sliding" down the shevington end back at Springfield park..Will post a video up of when I get home i found it quite funny.

Film....

Watched Nick Loves re-make of The Firm, Don't know what to make of Nick Love myself, I found Football Factory to be ok at best, The Business was watchable a film to pass the time and well Outlaw, how shite was that?
The Firm is a remake of the original made-for-television film from the 1980's which started Gary Oldman as Bexy and the "new" Bex played the part very well I found, you could see that he was a right nutter.
It included the scene from the original here hes in his mums and bashing the club on his bed shouting through grit-teeth ( YETI YETI).
I found it a good watch although to much sportswear, more like a fucking advert at times.
