Band Of The Day

Exit Calm

"Pure Genius - The Assembly of iron and wood because temples must be made. And the avoidance of all that whiny, Sexless bullshit passing for rebellion at the moment"

That is how Todd Eckhart - The producer of the Joy Division "Control"  would describe the Barnsley band Exit Calm.

With a crashing sound,Distorted guitars and vocals that are on the verge of raw talent, Very Verve like in there sound, and they have been compared to that band and as they have said they are an influence....

They have realised a self-titled album Exit Calm which was released on May 17th and when I discovered this band they have given me a breath of fresh air from the "indie" stuff that the lads in skinny jeans and pointy shoes and "out there" shirts from Top Man are into, Exit Calm's music is raw, Energetic and for here a breath of fresh air music wise and makes me excited to listen to music again.

The track listing for there début album is as follows and is available on Spotify.

The pick of the bunch for me is You've Got It All Wrong, Hearts and Minds, In fact scrape that statement, Here at Bricks HQ there whole album wants us to jump up and dance with a can of red stripe and sing at the top of our longs in a small little bar/hall covered in sweat and just being part of the music.
