Wigan Athletic vs Liverpool

Wigan Athletic Football Club vs Liverpool

DW stadium,20:00

Latics take on the red scousers toneet and from what I have heard the stadium has been sold-out hmm wounder how many scousers in our end there will be? no doubt they will be saying "we took over your ground" blah blah blah....

Liverpool FC have never lost to Latics however the DW stadium has a new pitch....could that be a advantage?

We need to win to give us breathing space between the bottom 3 and to keep fighting to secure another season in the greed league..

Liverpool are still following for that illusive title?

Wigan could see Victor Moses making his debut tonight due to a lack of goals and maybe some fresh new blood in the team could give us the chance we need?

Injurys doubts?

  • Charles N'Zogbia- Knee

  • Paul Sharner - Groin

Liverpool will be hoping for Daniel Agger will be fit despite leaving Anfield on crutches...

Head to Head

Latics: WINS:0 draw:2 Liverpool WINS: 7

League Cup: Latics WINS: 0 Draws: 0 Liverpool WINS: 2

Total: Latics WINS: 0 Draws: 2 Liverpool : 9

So as you can see...not good on paper however im hoping for a change in form and hopefully we can get our first win tonight!

Fifa thinking about scrapping the off-side rule.

http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/02032010/58/world-cup-2010-fifa-ponder-scrapping-offsides.html

So as you can see FIFA plan on scrapping off-side? why to make games more entertaining for the prawns aka middle class tossers with disposible income who have no really love for the club and just want entertaining?
If this happens it will be another nail in footballs coffin.

If this rule comes into force then I will stop going watching my team it will break my heart but it will just be another nail in the coffin.

Film of the day.......

Full Metal Jacket

Directed by Stanley Kubrick and released in 1987, Is a war film based on the book The Short-Timers.
Set during the Vietnam war, Follows a group of marines who are at Pullis Island.
They are trained by a strict drill instructor called Gunnery Sergent Hartman.
He be lives that verbally and physically insulting them will De-sensitise and harden them for the war.
The training follows Pvt.Joker and Pvt.Pile who get most of Hartman's abuse.
The intro to the film follows them training to be part of the United States Marine Corps and has quite a shocking and harrowing end.
The film then goes on to follow Pvt.Joker who is a military journalist who has been sent to Vietnam and him as an enemy attacks.....

Twisted Wheel - independence night club -Wigan

Twisted Wheel are playing at the independance night club in Wigan which I will be attending.
formed in 2007 and are signed to Columbia Records, They have released one album to date are are to release a second album in 2010.
I have seen Twisted Wheel at Kendal Calling festival where there set was very good and energetic and I would say they remind me of Oasis mixed with a bit of the clash.

The End

The End was a fanzine from Liverpool in the early 80's, and focoused on all the things that every-day fans thought about, Football, What you where wearing to the match and also what music was popular new bands etc..
Peter Hooton who was the front man for the farm was co editor of the end and would become a popular figure.
The end has achived a cult status over the years, and one of its most loved articles was the letters section.
The fanzine ran from 1981 to 1988 and as I have mentioned has achived a cult status and there was talk of re-issuing the issues in the 1990's.
