Bank Holiday Monday.....
Wigan Athletic vs Hull City
DW stadium,Wigan
With Hull relegated and Wigan staying up, Will this be a nothing game where both teams can not be arsed or will it be a party for Latics/Gutted for Hull, We have Chelsea away for the last game of the season so this could be a chance to pick up some points before the season ends and just to make sure that we stay up!
Should be a good day and shall have a decent slurp around town.

Its confirmed.
We are safe, Thanks to Burnley to losing 4-0 we are staying up in the Barcleys Premier League for the 6th consecutive season!
The manager Martinez has hinted at wanting to compete for Europe regulary and to build on the squad and proper push our team to get to where we can and not be looking over our shoulder and scrapping to stay in the Premier League.
He is heading for the right direction, I think Martinez is the right man to take Wigan Athletic, It just needs Whelans surport and not to keep hitting at the fans for " not turning up" well put some money in instead of selling off players and help the club move forward!

West Ham vs Wigan Athletic
This is the game that could see Latics mathmaticly safe for another season in the premier league! still shoving two fingers up at the big boys...come on!

moving on to the preview.
Latics are traveling down to Upton Park , where there is a lot riding on this game for both sides.
If Hull fail to beat Sunderland we are safe!
A win for West Ham will be a push in there fight for safty as well.
Here is what Roberto Martinez has said that "West Ham will play with a high tempo to try and take the initave early on,so we have to be ready for that"
We are in for a hard game but if we can play like we did against arsenal then we should win but you never know with Latics.
Latics travel to Upton Park:
Come on Latics!
Saint Georges Day
Here are a few poems about Englands patron Saint, Saint George.
The True Dragon by Brian Patten
St George was out walking
He met a dragon on a hill,It was wise and wonderful
Too glorious to kill
It slept amongst the wild thyme
Where the oxlips and violets grow
Its skin was a luminous fire
That made the English landscape glow
Its tears were England’s crystal rivers
Its breath the mist on England’s moors
Its larder was England’s orchards,
Its house was without doors
St George was in awe of it
It was a thing apart
He hid the sleeping dragon
Inside every English heart
So on this day let’s celebrate
England’s valleys full of light,
The green fire of the landscape
Lakes shivering with delight
Let’s celebrate St George’s Day,The dragon in repose;
The brilliant lark ascending,
The yew, the oak, the rose
By George! by Elvis Mcgonagall
Once more unto the breach,
dear Morris Dancers
once more
Jingle your bells,
thwack sticks, raise flagons
Cry “God for Harry and Saint George!”
Gallant knight and slayer of dragons
Patron saint of merry England –And Georgia, and Catalonia, and Portugal, Beirut, Moscow Istanbul, Germany, GreeceArchers, farmers, boy scouts, butchers and sufferers of syphilis
Multicultural icon with sword and codpiece
On, on you bullet-headed saxon sons
Fly flags from white van and cab
But remember stout yeomen, your champion was TurkishSo – get drunk and have a kebab

Louis Theroux's Americas Medicated Kids.

Documentary about kids in America who are as young as 7 on medication for mental problems where the long term effects of this medication having not been tested yet parents still take there kids to the doctors to get them checked out and on this medication, Very interesting watching as always with Louis Theroux's programs.
"Film Review"
Decided to give The Football Factory a viewing again since last time I watched it I was younger and well, This film I thought at the time was quite good I have to admit.
Looking back I don't know what I was thinking there is some really piss poor acting although the scenes of ultra-violence are quite good in Contrast to Hooligan-Films that have come out over recent years.
On the clothes front there is some nice items of clothing, Notably the jacket that the leader of the Chelsea firm is quite nice as is also Rods which is either Burberry or Aquascutum looking at the check on the lining of the jacket, Few Hackett polos ( BIG logos so are garish and vulgar!) Ralph Lauren etc.
The film is based on the Novel of the same name which I find is quite a good read.
"What where you wearing yesterday?"
Went to Fredricks Ice Cream Parlour in Chorley Yesterday.
I had Tiger Orange which obviously was Orange, Had 2 scoops and was worth the drive.
Here is what I was wearing:
Barbour Jacket ( Sarfari I think its called)
Blue Harbour Black Polo
Straight fitting jeans
Adidas Zurich
Are things moving on in the right direction?
For the younger "lot" It seems that lads at the football are moving on from the stereotypical "Football lad/hooligan look" being decked out in Stone Island/Aquascutum, Fila etc ( since the release of Nick Loves remake of the firm) to moving onto more conventional and unique labels, Labels such as Albam, folk and Uniqlo to some extent, People looking for bargains has become more frequent since during the recession people don't have as much disposable income as they used to so trying to stand out from the crowd at a cheaper price is what people are trying to do, Well I am.
You will still get the odd fake stone island jumper wearing tracksuit cunt giving it the V's to the away fans and then going back to his 2L Cider when he gets back home and to the streets since he cant drink in the local pub.
There will always be people who follow, Not lead.
Be a Shepard not a sheep.

Tunes of the day
I am just a child - Again.

Yesterday I picked up the free World Cup 2010 sticker album and have proceeded to get stickers for it and I feel like I am 5 years old again in my old terrace house in Appley Bridge on my bunk bed sticking in stickers in the Merlin Premier League 1995/1997.
There will be kids having swapsies,Scrapping over that elusive "shinie".
Wigan Athletic vs Arsenal - History was made.
Yesterday history was made for my club, From a little corner in Lancashire Wigan Athletic won Arsenal FC from being 2 goals down with ten minutes to go, We had the guts and determination to go and do it, The terraces where fantastic with the atmosphere and when the final whistle blew you knew how much it ment to us, We had more or less secured a 7th year in the Barclays Premier League.

What defines you?
After a interesting post on Casual-co I have pondered what Defines me?
Is it to choose clothings with the right aesthetics? the right cut? That fit and suit me down to a tee? Managing to go from the flock and wear something different to what other people are wearing even if you get stick for it?
For me its all of the above plus a love for clothing and trainers despite my budget.

Fashion is irrelevant style is forever.
Last film watched...
There seems to be more film posts than football or music at the moment but there will be more of them later on in the day.
I watched a decent gangster film which is in fact a work of brilliance.
The film is split into diffrent parts where the main character Noddles ( De Niro) remencsises about his time as a gangster during Proabition-era America.
A old noodles.
Has New york ever looked so beautiful?
A decent gangster film. 9.5/10

The Italian Job ( 1969)
Revently released from prison, Carrer criminal Charlie Crocker plans and executes the audacious theft of a $4 million worthof gold bullion from a bankin Turin during an international football match between England and Italy.
Thanks to financial and logistical help from the contacttsa nd resources of the imprisoned crime lord Mr Bridger, and desipite the best efforts of the Mafia, Crockers gang make thereir escaped rom Turin in a small fleet of minis, Before moving on to a bus where they pose as football surporters.
However, Poor driving leaves the gold filled coach hanging off the edge of cliff,Leaving Crocker unable to retrive his bountywithout overbalancing the vehicle and killing himself and his team in the process. The credits roll with the gangs fate uncertain.
This film is a personal favorite of mine and stars Sir Micheal Caine at when he was at a peak in Acting, Also starring Noel Coward as Mr Bridger, Both acters put up sterling performances in the film and the film itself has so many memorble quotes and scenes.
Quotes:
Mr Bridger: ' I hope he likes spaghetti. Thety serve it four times a day in the Italian prisons.
Charlie:' Your only supposed to blow the bloody doors off.'
little bit of triva: The screenwriter Tory Kennedy Martin was the co creater off and one of hte principal screen writes for the TV series Z cars.
"Your only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!"
*Please note I am aware of the The Italian Job remake, Its shit, Dont watch it its not a patch on this film.*
10/10.

Film of the day.
An in-depth examination of the way that the Vietnam war affects the lives of people in a small industrial town in the USA.
Got this off Ebay for 3 quid del. Bargain!
This film is on The Casual Connoisseur top 50 films and I decided to give it a watch, I was not disapointed. Amazing film.
Depicted in a small American working class town depicting life after the Vietham war and the issues that had to be dealt with, The famous Russian Roulette scene was hard to watch yet fantastic.
The film won 5 Oscars for Best Picture,Best Director,Best Supporting Actor ( Chrisopher Walken) Best Editing and Best Sound.
Here are some Quotes from the film:
"Stanley, see this? This is this. This ain't something else. This is this. From now on, you're on your own.""You wanna play games? All right, I'll play your fucking games.""Every time he comes up, he's got no knife, he's got no jacket, he's got no pants, he's got no boots. All he's got is that stupid gun he carries around like John Wayne"
And some screenshots:
On the hunt...One of the scenes at the beginning of the film.
The Russian Roulette scene hard yet compelling to watch.
